Half-Life 2 beta available

Valve is releasing more and more of their games for the Linux platform. Latest available betas are Half-Life 2, HL2:Episode One, HL2:Episode2 and Left 4 Dead 2.

So everyone who likes Gordon Freeman is invited to pick up the crowbar again.
Valve also implemented support for the Oculus Rift in HL2. So you could have an experimental virtual reality experience if you are one of the Oculus Rift beta testers.

Just Tactics – 2 codes for free

I got a nice message from the developer of the Just Tactics game.

Just Tactics is multiplayer 1v1 and the community is still small (which is why any more help spreading the word about Just Tactics is appreciated :) so it can be hard to find a match in the Quickmatch queue. So we have meetup times. If you join at 11:00 AM, 3:00 PM, or 9:00 PM EST you will find an opponent for sure. Additionally, someone from the team is usually in the queue helping people out from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST.

He donated me 2 free keys for the game. So the first two who drop me a line at Marko.Kaiser (at) linux-gamers.net will get a code.

War for the Overworld started on Kickstarter

Bo Fjord Jensen messaged me about the game.

Hi Linux-Gamers!
I’m involved in a project called War for the Overworld, which is a
spiritual successor to Dungeon Keeper and we recently launched on
Kickstarter.

Currently we have a trailer featuring Richard Ridings as the narrator,
and we hope top get him on board as part of our stretch goals.

Another nice thing we have is a playable showcase of War for the
Overworld. Where you take control of a Blood Imp in order to explorer
the dungeon. There isn’t any gameplay in it just yet, but it runs on
Linux.
