After I completely abandoned windows, I haven't been playing many 3d games on my pc, but now I want to give er a try. So I decided to crack open my ut2003 box and install the badboy. I'm dirt poor at the moment so 2004 is out of the question, heck, I can't even get the nvidia card I want. So, with this Radeon in my comp I'm going to have to patch my ut2003 install and hope that thier s3tc fallback works and I can at least play.
I've tried to use the loki_update but the best I could get was an unverified complete install of teh patch, garbage! After that I can't even get a connection to any of the mirrors.
Next! I went to http://www.beyondunreal.com/main/ut2003/ut2003essential.php and downloaded their binary patches and tried to install the 2136, 2166, 2186, 2199 and 2225 patches in that order. I made them executable, but I get this:

So, I got the compressed 2225 tar.bz2 file from unrealtournament.com, but I'm not sure what I have to do with it. I get the impression that I just copy the files over to the appropriate folders. Do I have to get the previous patches installed first? Does Icculus.org have a better patch file ( I heard that ut2004 has a buggy patch at the offical site)? Thanks for your help. I hope ppl still play ut2003 or I'll be lonely for a while
