What Linux lacks, besides many high-quality games, is a tool to capture those and save as video. While there are tools such as xvidcap and a few commercial ones that are capable of capturing the desktop, none of those was designed to capture games. The yukon framework OTOH was designed from the beginning on to capture games. It not only contains tools to capture videos, but also tools to analyze, replay or convert the video to a more portable format (mp4). While the project is very young, it certaily has the potential to become 'Fraps/GameCam for Linux'.
